I've lost count of the amount of times that my skin is having a freakout. Even though as I'd love to
pretend I don't. There's no pattern it or when it's going to happen, but most of the time its always
when I'm looking forward to doing my makeup or have plans to do something. There are a lot of
different factors that go into have flare ups or breakouts in your skin. Everything from food to stress.
Unfortunately my skin freaks out all the time no matter what I do, so I have a specific routine for
when this happens. I like to have use as little products as possible to not irritate my skin even more.
My normal skin care routine consists of 5 steps and 4 products (check it out here), however
I do more steps and use less products when my skin is not it's normal self.
My favourite way to take my makeup off no matter what it's like, is to use the Face Halo (full review
here). This uses only water to remove makeup of the surface of the skin and deep into the pores
without using any harsh chemicals to do so. Even if I'm not wearing makeup I still like to use this to
get my skin used to being in a routine, as well removing environmental bacteria from the skin. The
next product I use is the Dermalogica pre cleanse* oil to get deeper into the skin to remove bacteria
that has been missed or sat there for longer than the day (full review on Dermalogica here).
I'll then apply my Dermalogica skin smoothing cream* to my skin hydrated and nourished, without
being too thick and heavy on my skin, leaving it to clog my pores. If I can feel a spot or blemish
under the surface or think I'm about to have a breakout then I apply a small amount of the Clean
and Clear advantage spot treatment gel, to the area remove the oil from the area and purify the skin,
removing the redness and puffiness of the spot or blemish within 4 hours.
If my skin is worse than usual I will only use the those products, unless it's feeling dry and
dehydrated. If so I use the B.Hydtated hyaluronic acid facial spritz to replenish the skin whilst also
soothing the face with the hyaluronic acid. I love this product so much, as it makes me feel so much
more refreshed and awake, however I make sure to use it only when my skin really needs it.
Over the past few months I've got into use more skincare tools, after seeing them in everyones posts
and photos online. I will admit that I thought they were a giant gimmick, but I have noticed a
difference. The jade face roller is an alternative to needles and cosmetic treatments, and is a lot softer
on the skin. Jade is a crystal that is known for it's cooling, soothing and balancing properties making
it perfect as an at home treatment for the skin. I also recently purchased a set of 2 jade sculpting tools,
which main aims are to increase the blood flow to soft tissue to rejuvenate and smooth out the skin.
Due to the shape of this, it's perfect for smoothing out the neck and jawline for more definition.
