What's new in my life? - update

In my 6+ years of blogging, I share a lot of my life. I've shared the ups and downs, perhaps even
overshared in some areas. Over the years I've learnt what I want to put online and what I want to keep
private. However my personal life affects my blog, whether that be the content, quality of photos of my
upload schedule. I haven't done an 'update' post since 2018 (view here), and obviously so much has
changed since then. I'm not going to update you all on what's happened in the last 2 years but I feel like an
explanation and update is needed, especially for those who have stuck around for all those years.

The big elephant in the room - corona. Going back to when this started, we went into lockdown March
23rd. The day before my 21st birthday. I was so gutted that my plans got cancelled, from family meals to
nights out. I'm not going to lie, I was devastated. A big birthday that I still haven't celebrated. Thankfully I
continued working up until the end of May. As I work in education I didn't end up going back to work
until September. I thought those 4 months were going to be so productive. I wanted to improve my
content, catch up on my reading and so much more. Instead I did nothing. Looking back the only thing I
can remember doing is redecorating my bedroom.

As this post goes live, we are entering our second official lockdown (starting tomorrow) and this time
round I'm really worried. Back in March my life didn't change. I was still going to work, I only left the
house to go to ASDA, like before, the only thing was that I couldn't see my family. With Christmas
coming, blog work getting busier and being in a new relationship I'm worried about how my mental health
will be impacted. I've been struggling with it a lot of the last few weeks, trying to hide it and blame it on
other things but it's getting harder to do that. My BPD has hit me like a ton of bricks all of a sudden and I
find myself searching through my books for an explanation on how I should be feeling and what to do.

As I mentioned I'm in a new relationship. Most of you will know that I ended my engagement at the
beginning of the year and was single for the first time since I was 17. This year has given me the chance to
find myself and realise what it is I want, both alone and in a relationship. And I got it. My boyfriend is
truly everything I've been looking for. From a gentleman and holding my bags to being a soppy romantic
and complimenting me all the time. But also having that banter and the ability to not take life to seriously.
I did a blog post a few months back about why I won't be talking about my relationship online again, and I
stick by that. I don't want the pressure of having to have a 'picture perfect' relationship online. The only
people I care about with my relationship is me and my boyfriend. We are all that matters.

In regards to blogging, I feel like everything's come at once. With COVID, it was so hard to work with
brands and get collaborations as no one was working and if they were, they didn't have the finances to do
so. As everything has started getting back on track, so has my collaborations and brand work. I've got
some sponsored posts coming up soon and am working with some incredible brands to create some
Christmas gift guides that will be coming in a few weeks time. I'm also trying to post more over on my
Instagram and step out of my comfort zone.

As things started returning back to normality, or as close as possible, I was lucky enough to get some more
tattoos and even a couple piercings. I have met my boyfriends friends, group of 6 obviously, and some of
his family. I have had some great times with family, chatting a bunch of rubbish whilst sat in a pub.
There's a lot of things that didn't go to plan this year like I hoped, but a lot that has surprised me and
turned into some incredible memories.
