Rediscovering ELF Cosmetics and ELF must-haves

ELF Cosmetics has been a favourite of mine for as long as I could remember. It was one of the first
affordable brands that truly had good products. In fact, in my first year of blogging (8 years ago) I did
an ELF Cosmetics haul, and you can see just how much they have grown and expanded their brand.
Unfortunately they have discontinued some of my favourite products such as the undereye HD setting
powder and the tone correcting powder, which was perfect for uneven skin tones.

Since I have been using ELF for a quite a few years and tried more products from them than I realised,
their are definitely products I recommend and want everyone to try for themselves. I have rediscovered
ELF over the last year or so and become more obsessed with their products!

After hearing this was a dupe for the Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Filter for £25 less I had to give it a go. I
didn't have high expectation as I had recently tried out the Collection Gorgeous Glow Filter and didn't get
on with it. As soon as I started to put this on my face I knew it would be a game changer. This is described
as a complexion booster for a glowing, soft-focus look that can be used alone or under foundation to
enhance your glow. This is enriched with squalane and hyaluronic acid, which gives it a skincare like feel.
I love to use this over primer, underneath my foundation to bring some life to my skin without having to
use more foundation, bronzer and highlighter!

This is a primer that I hunted down, despite thinking I wouldn't like it. I had never tried a gripping primer
but Mikayla Nogueira made me want to try it. This contains hyaluronic acid which helps to plump the
complexion, a gel formula for a gripping texture, all whilst giving a soft focus affect to the skin. This is
ideally applied on clean skin and left for a few minutes to go 'tacky' before applying the base products.
The gripping texture helps to hold onto your base products and make your makeup last longer throughout
the day. I have also purchased the power grip primer + 4% niacinamide, however I'm yet to try it out.

I have loved the ELF putty primers since they first come out. They continue to launch new editions to their
range (blemish, matte, luminous, vitamin c, cookies and creme, dunkin' donuts), and I have tried all of
them. I continue to come back and revert to the original. This smoothes over imperfections and pores for a
clear and flawless look, without clogging your pores. Gliding perfectly over the face and gripping onto
makeup for an all day flawless finish. There's a reason this is the #1 mass primer in America!

I love using a brush to apply my primer as I find it really gets into the skin and gives the best results for
applying my foundation onto. I was curious about this brush and applicator, specifically designed for the
putty primers but wanted to give it a go since I love the putty primers so much. The applicator is a scoop
which helps to get the primer out of the pot and apply directly onto the skin. I find it easiest to turn the
applicator over and use it backwards in order to get precise application on the face. The brush is the
perfect density, that doesn't soak up or hold onto the product and blends perfectly into the face whilst
still giving the maximum benefits of the putty primer!

The 'laminated' brow look is something I've experimented with a lot, and have even had done to my
brows. The best results for myself is by using a wax/gel product with a spoolie for a temporary result. This
brow lift is a clear wax which is easily movable for getting the brow shape for you. I like a thicker/bushier
brow and this is perfect for doing so. I most like how this doesn't leave a residue or cast on the brows,
dries down quickly and doesn't require a lot of product to get the desired results!
