What I wish I knew sooner

(Photo edited by @elisehegney)

There are so many times I find myself thinking about what I wish I knew sooner, and could tell my
younger self. Despite only being 19 there are so many things I wish I knew then that I know now. I've
done a similar post of things I wish I knew about high school, but after watching a video by The Real
I realised there are still so many things I wish I knew sooner and could tell my younger self.

Although this is advice and things I wish I knew sooner and could tell my younger self, I still
wouldn't change anything about my past because it's got me to where I am today and made me
the person that I am. I'm a true believer in everything happens for a reason, even though we
might not agree with or think that at the time.

1. Don't worry about what your 'friends' think. Just because they do something doesn't mean you
should. Doing drugs and drinking alcohol doesn't make you cool. They'll realise that later.

2. Have fun, go out, experiment and act like a teenager. Don't do something stupid
or something that you'll regret but still have fun.

3. Stop stressing about high school, college and placement. Honestly it'll all work out.

4. People will mess with you and act a certain way to your face but different behind you
back, but they're not your true friends and never will be.

5. It's ok to say no. Just because someone is in a higher position and has more authority than
you doesn't mean you have to say yes and agree with everything that they say.

6. Stop trying to act like someone you're not just to impress other people and
people who aren't and never will be your friends.

7. Try and work harder because you'll wish you did in a few years time.

8. Ignore all the drama.

What are some things that you wish you knew sooner?
Let me know in a comment down below.
