Mauve Over: A Wedding Outfit

One of my favourite things to do is to get dressed up in clothes that make
me feel pretty and good about myself, and weddings is my favourite time to do
this. I always feel like you can experiment a bit a weddings because nobody
looks at you, it's about the bride and groom. For all I know you could go in a bin
bag and people wouldn't look twice! I like to wear clothes or colours that
I wouldn't wear day to day as I'm too scared to but have always wanted to.
Last Saturday my cousin got married, and when I was thinking about my
outfit and what I should wear I had no idea. But when I went to Selfridges in
Birmingham last month and saw this mauve suede pencil skirt from Missguided
I knew I had to have it. I have never worn a pencil skirt before as I didn't
think they suited me, but when I tried this one on I immediately fell in love.

As I wanted the skirt to be the main focus, I paired in with a long sleeve
fitted black top from H&M. I struggled finding shoes but when I was browsing
on Public Desire and saw these in the sale for only £9, I knew they would
compliment the outfit really well. I used a pink blush and pink tones on my eyes,
as well as on my nails. I didn't want my hair down, so I put it in a side bun.
I also wore my everyday jewelry and paired this with a simple black clutch bag.

I loved everything about this outfit and it was super comfortable except for
the heels. These were only 4" but they were the most uncomfortable shoes
I have ever wore, which I think is because they have very little support
at the front of the heel. If you are experienced with heels then these will be
great for you, however if you are like me and don't wear heels very often
then I wouldn't suggest these for you!
