In work mental health kits | AD Spon

This is a product only AD with Mere

Mental health continues to grow in importance everyday. It is more important now than ever before to
be checking in on your friends and family to make sure they are safe and well, whilst having an outlet
express themselves without being judged. I have found that the main lack of support with mental health
is in the workplace. I believe this is down to the environment having to be kept professional at all times
rather than personal. However due to this, it means that mental health is being pushed aside and dealt with
alone, eventually leading to people having to come out of work due to severe symptoms.

There are so many different ways that the workplace can help with this and start taking mental
health seriously. I recently spoke with an employee at Mere and how the brand is starting to create
mental health kits designed specifically for the workplace. I loved this idea and wanted to do something
myself to start a conversation.

Mere are currently focusing on changing the world of first aid. Created by Paramedics, designed to save lives. Each first aid kit is made to thrive in the world toughest environments from the blistering heat to the rainforest. A regular first aid kit has basic everyday products that wont actually save a life, which is what Mere is working to change. Recently diving into the importance of talking openly about mental health as well as spreading awareness and knowledge of the topic.

As most of you will know I suffer with quite a few mental health issues including; anxiety, depression and
bpd. These have all affected my work life and career. Over the years I have learned to manage them in
different ways, however we all have bad days and struggle to separate personal from work. The idea
behind the work mental health kit from Mere is that it works as an escape and distraction in the work place
whilst still being able to do your job. Something that I've really struggled with is the embarrassment of
walking away and to a different room to take 5 minutes to myself, calm down and process what is
happening.  This kit is discreet and subtle, and can be used anywhere and everywhere around the
workplace, to avoid any potential embarrassment.

This kit includes a stress ball and infinity cube to work as a distraction and fidget toy, an eye mask and ear
plugs to block out heightened senses, a notepad and pen to jot down any thoughts and feelings, followed
by some notes on how to improve upon your mental health and what to do in the moment and future. You
can pick up one for yourself from the Mere website for only £15.

Do you like the idea of an in work mental health kit?
