Rom-Coms everyone must watch

The past few months have give everyone the perfect opportunity to binge on tv series and films. I feel like
I'm watching a new film or documentary everyday, yet my watchlist seems to be getting bigger and bigger.
I'm constantly finding new films to watch, but especially rom-coms which thankfully are my favourite.
They have the ability to make you laugh hysterically, smile with happiness and cry with sadness all in one
film. I've done posts recommend different documentaries or films to watch on Netflix before, so I thought I
was about time that I compiled a list together of the rom-coms that everyone must watch.

JUST GO WITH IT - 2011
This is a film I always come back to when I don't know what to watch, since I love it so much and it stars
both Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler. A plastic surgeon recruits his assistant, to pose as his ex-wife
after a lie gets out of hand with his new girlfriend. After he is blackmailed, by a child, they all end up
going on holiday together in Hawaii. This is the classic story where you are routing for them throughout.

RUMOUR HAS IT - 2005
I watched this recently and I loved it, and again is another film with Jennifer Aniston! After learning that
her family is based of the book and film; The Graduate, Sarah goes on the search to find out who she is.
Just like any other film it's not quite that straight forward. I actually found myself wanting a different
ending, which is unlike me, but if you're after a film with twists and a happy ending then this is for you!

THE LAKE HOUSE - 2006
Out of all the films on the list this is the one I recommend you watching the most. After a doctor, Kate,
moves out of her lake house she begins writing to a former resident of the house. They must start
unravelling the mystery as to why they can't be together, before it's too late. This film will have you
feeling so many different emotions throughout, and is the true definition of 'right place, wrong time'.

YOU'VE GOT MAIL - 1998
Out of all the films on the list, this is the one I went in to not expecting anything. Meg Ryan plays an
independent bookstore owner, talking to a man online who she met in a chat room. After quickly finding
out that he is the man trying to put her out of business, things don't look like they're going to a happily
ever after. Although based in the late 90's it's still interesting to see the difference between dating both
online and offline, which is even bigger than it was 20 years ago!

TWO WEEKS NOTICE - 2002
There's something about films in New York that makes the film so much more romantic whilst starring
both Hugh Grant and Sandra Bullock. Sandra's character, Lucy, ends up working for a company that is
against all of her beliefs. After her millionaire boss is using her for his little jobs rather than the lawyer she
is, she gives in her notice. But after getting a new job they both realise how much they truly needed each
other, in more way than one. Definitely worth a watch, purely just for the unlikely pairing of the actors.

WHEN HARRY MET SALLY - 1989
Despite only watching this once, I think it might be one of my favourite rom-coms ever. Although most
known for the famous orgasm scene, this puts to the test whether men and women can truly be just friends.
After continuously bumping into each other, year after year they get closer and start to wonder if sex will
ruin their friendship. Another classic film that will have you rooting for the main characters all the way.

What rom-coms do you recommend?
