Gift guide - for book lovers

This year I've really fallen in love with books. I've always loved reading and experiencing a world
with books, but this year I wanted to make it a priority. I set myself a challenge for the year and am
so close to completing it. I added loads of books to my wish list and Christmas list as well as book
related items. Searching high and low, I realised nobody had a gift guide for book lovers. Yes we can
give gift cards and books of our wish list, but it's also nice to give something more personal and
related to a person interests.

I recently found a website and it has become a favourite of mine, book lover gifts. They have so
many great gifts that I can't wait to get my hands on, from the Penguin postcards to a home librarian
kit. If you are looking for a simple yet effective gift then their choice of tote bags are for you. Not
only do they have an amazing quote/print range to choose from but they also are helping to preserve
the environment by reducing our use of plastic bags. My favourite is the 'never judge a book by its
movie'* tote bag, which I think we all relate too!

A classic gift for anyone, book addict or your casual book reader, that also makes a great stocking
stuffer is book marks. This year I discovered magnetic bookmarks and I can't believe I have never
used them before. These ones in specific are from the Mr Men/Little Miss collection which are so
cute. You can match them to the colour or theme of your book or even dependant upon your mood. I
also discovered that you can get some quirky bookmarks from Wish. My favourites are the monster
cat bum and the book lamp. These are 3D and make really fun gifts to receive.

No matter what time of book reader you are, you will understand the struggle of reading at night, or
in the winter with it getting dark at 4.30. Sometimes you don't want the main light on and fairy lights
just aren't enough. There are so many different types of book lamps that can help with this, but my
personal favourite are the clip on flexible ones. These can also be used as book marks due to the
small holder they have. I either put this in the back of book and angle it directly onto my page or
wrap round my headboard for the perfect light.

Over the last few years I've seen so many people get into journalling, but more specifically 'one line a
day' or 'question a day' for 5 years. I think the reason these have become so popular is because they
are so easy to do yet they contain memories over a 5 year time span. You get the chance to see what
you were doing this time last year and how you've grown. These make great gifts and stocking fillers.

Speaking of journalling, bullet journalling has took of recently. This isn't necessarily something for
just book lovers but most people I know who love to read also have a bullet journal. I started bullet
journal, to keep track of the books I was buying and reading as well as yearly stats. You can buy
official bullet journals, but I enjoy finding ones with designs that match that persons personality. I
love pink and flamingos, so I found the perfect style for me on Amazon.

No matter what shop you go in, you are most likely to find some form of Funko Pop. I can't
believe how many people own these, and that I am in fact one of them. These can be used as toys for
children, but are most seen as collector items. The reason I wanted to include them in this specific gift
guide is because there are hundreds of options out there available and so many that are beloved book
characters. It keeps a book alive in a way like no other.

There was no way I could do a gift guide for book lovers without including books themselves. This is
an obvious gift but one that I think needs to be stripped back to basics. Yes you can give someone a
gift card to Whsmith or Waterstones, but finding a book that they really want or a specific edition of
that book is so much more special. Penguin clothbound classics are a great place to start. They range
from £5-£15 and have hundreds of books to choose from, with quirky covers.

What gifts would you love to receive as a book lover?

Some of these products were gifted (have been marked with an asterix) to me however this post is not sponsored and all opinions are my own.
