Tattoo update and Q&A

Since I now have a lot of tattoos and asking on Instagram if you would be interested in seeing them and also asking for questions, I thought it was about time I do another tattoo post. In fact this is my third tattoo post. Read the first post here and the second post here. I know tattoos aren't for everyone and can be very hit or miss, however I see that as a form of art and expression that can have meaning or none at all.

HOW MANY TATTOOS DO YOU HAVE?
I now have a total of 17 tattoos!

WHAT'S YOUR LATEST TATTOO?
My most recent was my panther on the top of my thigh, but I also got my balloon
tattoo updated on the same day.

DO THEY HURT?
Anyone who says tattoos don't hurt are lying. It just depends on the location, the artist
and the person and they're pain intolerance as to how much they hurt.

WHAT WAS YOUR MOST PAINFUL TATTOO?
Definitely the Roman numerals on my hip, as it's directly on the bone. My panther on
my thigh was painful too, but that's because it took over 8 hours to do.

HOW DO YOU DECIDE WHAT ARITST TO GO TO?
My number one piece of advice is to do your research. Look at artists in and around your area,
or places that you are willing to travel too. Read their reviews and look at their portfolio. If you
don't feel 100% set then you're more likely to regret the final outcome. So do you research.

HOW OLD WAS YOU WHEN YOU GOT YOUR FIRST TATTOO?
I was 18 when I got my first tattoo

DO YOU GET TATTOOS ON IMPULSE?
I try not to get tattoos on impulse but I definitely do. A lot of my tattoos were done
on impulse and with little or no thought, and some of them are my favourites!

WHAT DO YOU FAMILY THINK OF YOUR TATTOOS?
I'm very lucky to have grown up with my family having a lot of tattoos and also
being very accepting. The only thing my parents said to me, was to think about the
placement of the tattoos because of the career I want.

WHATS THE BEST PRODUCT TO USE TO HEAL TATTOOS?
I love using the Yayo prime tattoo butter.

DO YOU PLAN ON GETTING ANY MORE?
I definitely don't see myself stopping any time soon, and I've booked in for another session
coming up soon. I do also have ideas for my next few which will take me to over 20 tattoos!

WHO ARE SOME ARTISTS THAT YOU WOULD LOVE TO BE TATTOOED BY?
There are only 3 artists I really want to get tattooed by and they are; Gee Hawkes,
Ricky Latham and the controversial Kat Von D as her work is incredible!

DO YOU REGRET ANY?
I don't regret any tattoos, however their is 1 tattoo that I don't like because I don't think
it was done poorly and he didn't listen to what I wanted. How I handled the situation is more
of a regret than the tattoo itself.

WHERE DO YOU GET YOUR TATTOS DONE?
I've been to quite a few different tattoo shops, but I now get my tattoos done by
Becky at Alchemy Moon Tattoo Collective, in Tamworth.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE TATTOO AND WHY?
I sat thinking about this question for a while, however I don't think I have just 1 favourite.
I love all my tattoos for different reasons. Whether that be for the meaning behind the, or
the detail or even because of the relationship I have with my tattoo artist.

WILL YOU COVER ANY OF THEM UP FOR YOUR WEDDING?
Definitely not! If I find a dress that covers them then that's fine, but if not then even better.

IS IT HARD TO FIND A JOB WITH VISIBLE TATTOOS?
It definitely can be, depending on the career that you want which is something you need to
consider before getting a tattoo. Most companies are hesitant towards people with visible tattoos
e.g. arms, hands, face and neck. This is one of the most important things to consider. Personally
I started getting tattoos on my legs and back, so they could be covered up. When you have an interview or start a new job, ask them what they views and policies are on tattoos.

ARE YOU WORRIED ABOUT WHAT YOUR CHILDREN WILL THINK?
Not at all. I can't wait for my children to grow up and ask about my tattoos, the
meaning behind them and why I got them.

WHAT DO THEY MEAN?
Not all of my tattoos have meaning. In fact only 4 of my tattoos have meaning behind them,
which is all related to my family.

ARE YOU WORRIED THEY'LL GO OUT OF STYLE?
Definitely not. None of my tattoos have been because they're the 'in' thing to have. There are so many people that have tattoos that I don't think they'll ever go out of style. Even if they do, I still love them.

DO YOU HAVE TATTOOS IN NON-VISIBLE PLACES?
I would say my tattoos are about 50/50. Depending on what clothes I wear, can
depend on what tattoo you see.

DO YOU WORRY THAT IT'S NOT VERY FEMINIE?
I think when I first started getting tattoos I did worry about this. However there are so many women out there who are tattooed, yet are still feminine and girly. You can be feminine and still have tattoos.

HOW MANY IS TOO MANY?
For me, there isn't a number to this question. Some people its 1, other it's 30, some its
their entire body. The answer to this question purely depends upon the person.

  1. I would love a tattoo or two in the near future. I have an idea of what I want but I don't want to rush into it. I have such a high pain threshold I feel like I could deal with that pain, especially having 3 kids, haha x

    1. I think even the ones we grow to hate or want removed, still tell a story and makes them a part of us! x

    1. You should get a small one! I hate needles too, but it's a completely different experience. You don't even think about it being a form of needle x

  8. I love how dainty and delicate all of your tattoos are, mine are quite bulky since they're traditional but I've always loved the look of the more delicate styles too!
