Even though we live in a world where there are so many huge problems going on and things that are
wrong with the world, we still have a lot of pressure and stress coming from social media. As a
blogger its' a constant competition and battle between other people to make sure you are shown and
portrayed in the right light, and getting the attention you deserve. But it's also a battle with yourself as
we all set expectations that we want to hit and get let down when we don't hit them.
A lot of people think our lives are perfect but instead, this is what we are
most likely thinking, struggling about or doing on a daily basis.
This photo is too plain. But this photo is too busy. I don't have enough props. I need to go shopping
for more backgrounds. It doesn't match my aesthetic. Not all the products are in the photo. Is it really
relevant anymore? How often is too often to post? Do I really need to post at the same time every
day? I've got no ads or sponsors this month. I don't have enough followers. The lighting isn't right.
What makeup is popular to post about this week? Do I really need to go and buy the entire
collection? People don't care about my page, if they wanted to see makeup they'd go to Trendmood
or Beautynewsuk. There's better bloggers out there. I wish I could work with huge brands like
Superdrug or Cult Beauty.
These are just a few of the struggles that us bloggers experience and thoughts that run throughout our
heads. I've thought about all of these and many more on a daily basis. There are so many people who
still think that we have picture perfect lives and nothing could be wrong in our lives, but this is just a
small insight into the pressure we put on ourselves. Blogging is truly a blessing and it gives us all a
chance to express ourselves but we stress out about all of the small things too.

Lighting is my main issue! You're welcome, I'm glad you liked it x
DeleteBlog props are my weak point!
ReplyDeleteCouldn't agree more x
DeleteYesss, I agree with everything. The main issues are the lighting. It never looks right. It changes so quickly but natural lighting is the best, when it is actually right haha x

Thank you! I know right. Thank goodness for editing apps x
DeleteThis post is so true! These are things I constantly stress about - especially my photography - I'm always comparing myself to others! x
ReplyDeleteIt's so hard not to compare isn't it x
DeleteBlogging now is much more difficult than it was when I first started. I think if you have a job outside of this industry then it is sometimes easier to just look at this as enjoyment and as a hobby and that therefore can minimise the struggles you face.
ReplyDeleteIf however you're trying to make a career out of it then I guess it is much harder and that surely must zap the enjoyment out of it to an extent.

Totally agree! You can't go into this industry wanting to make a career out of it, but you're lucky if it ends that way x
