If you went to school in England then you are most likely to have tried or at least seen this type of cake. When I first saw it again all the memories of being in primary school came flooding back to me. Seeing the pink icing topped with hundreds and thousands, it was like I could taste it again. I haven't come across a person who doesn't like this cake, so I decided to share the recipe for those who either have never tried it or haven't had it since their school days!
INGREDIENTS
Cake
300g butter
275g caster sugar
2 tsp vanilla extract
300g self raising flour
4 eggs

Icing sugar

Hundreds and thousands
STEPS
1 - Grease or line your tray
2 - Preheat the oven to 160℃/365℉
3 - Mix together the butter and sugar
4 - Add in the eggs, slowly adding in the flour
5 - Pour your mixture in the tray and bake for 25-30 minutes
6 - Leave until completely cool before starting on the icing
7 - Mix together the icing sugar, water and food colouring to create a thicker paste
