For the longest time I've been lusting after Itslittlelauren's baked goods, but especially her brownies.
Every time Lauren uploads a new post to Instagram, I find myself drooling over her incredible
creations. I decided it was time to try and bake them myself and see if I can make them look as
good as Lauren does (spoiler alert: they don't).
Although this recipe is the same as Lauren, I've ever so slightly changed a few of the ingredient
measurements, as well as adding a few more simpler steps for the chocolate topping!
INGREDIENTS
(brownie recipe)
200g butter
200g dark chocolate
300g sugar
90g plain flour
40g cocoa powder
150g chocolate chips
3 eggs
(topping recipe)
mini malteaser reindeers
cadbury mouse penguin
cadbury snowballs
chocolate coins
150g cooking milk chocolate
50g cooking dark chocolate
200g white chocolate
food gels/colouring
BROWNIE RECIPE
1 - Preheat the oven to 180C and line the tin with greaseproof paper.
2 - Melt the butter and dark chocolate together and leave to cool.
3 - Mix together the eggs and sugar using an electric mixer.
4 - Combine the butter and chocolate mix with the eggs and sugar.
Make sure to fold not mix together.
5 - Add in the colour and cocoa powder. Once again fold not mix.
6 - Finally fold the chocolate chips into the mix.
7 - Bake in the oven for 30-40 minutes.
CHOCOLATE TOPPING RECIPE
1 - Wait until the brownies are completely cool before starting on the topping.
2 - Melt together the dark and milk cooking chocolate, and pour over top of the brownies.
3 - Melt the white chocolate and split into 2 bowls (one for white and one for colour)
4 - In the second bowl add in the food colouring - I chose red.
5 - Using a spoon, flicker on the chocolate, alternating between the red and white.
6 - Using a toothpick, swirl together the colours for a marble affect.
I went up and down, left and right and then figure of 8's going across.
7 - Finally add on the chocolate in the desired layout.
