A lot of products from the high street/drugstore can be quite hit or miss. I think that the best range of products from the high street are there lipsticks. Each individual brand has a great selection of shades, finishes, formulas and more. I find a lot of people only do blog posts on high end lipsticks or new beauty releases. I wanted to do a post giving high street and affordable lipsticks the recognition that they deserve!
Loreal
I've tried 3 lipsticks from Loreal, 2 being part of the celebrity collection. The other one being part of the
caresse collection. I only picked this up because Loreal had a 3 for 2 deal on and I didn't know what product to get for free, but I think this is one of my favourite lipsticks that I own. This is in the shade 101 Tempting Lilac, which is a neutral toned pink with a purple undertone. Due to it's pink tones it's a lovely everyday shade, but can also be transitioned to the night time when paired with a dark bold eye.
Max Factor
Max Factor isn't a brand that I gravitate towards a lot, but when I heard someone talking about this lipstick and the fact that it was called Rosewood, I had to buy it. Even thought the only reason I bought it is because it's called Rosewood, the colour itself is beautiful. It's a medium berry shade with a brown too it, which gives it a 90's era effect. The consistency of this is great as it's super smooth when applying and moisturizing.
Seventeen
If you have been watching YouTube videos or reading blog posts for years then you might remember this lipstick. Years ago a popular high street lipstick was from Seventeen cosmetics in the shade beehive. Not only is this the perfect 'my lips but better' shade that will look beautiful on all complexion, but it also has great packaging which includes a slim mirror in the lid, to help you apply when on the go or at night.
Essence
Essence is a brand that I don't think a lot of people know about, as it's not available in many stores. I have only ever found Essence in Wilkinsons. I have 2 lipsticks from Essence in the shades; come naturally and barely there. My favourite out of the 2 is barely there because it is an exact dupe for MAC cosmetics Velvet Teddy.
Natural Collection
Natural Collection is a very underrated brand, especially when it comes to their lipsticks. They have 2 formulas; moisture shine and sheer natural. My favourite are there moisture shine lipsticks as they have the most pigmentation and they aren't at all drying on your lips. I believe I own all of the moisture shine lipsticks or nearly all of them, and apart from the neutral shades one of my favourites is in the shade Cherry Red. I like this around Christmas time as it's the perfect shade. I like to apply this lightly on the lips then blend using my finger.
