International Women's Day

Happy International Women's Day. March 8th celebrates the cultural, politic and socio-economic 

achievements of women around the world, dating back to 1911. Originally bought in to help protest and 

fight against labour rights, but now evolved into celebrating the achievements of all the women in our 

lives. We are still battling and protesting for the same rights as men. Having to face judgement based on 

our bodies, skin colour, sexuality and the fact that we are just women. 

Despite it being 2022, women still don't have equal rights. Women are more likely to face backlash and 

criticism in both their personal and work lives, compared to men. We still have to fight to have rights over 

our own bodies, over equal pay and so much more, all whilst facing harsh criticism.Whether you are 

business owner, stay at home mom, politician or veteran, you as a women help make a difference. 

I am proud to be a women. I'm proud to celebrate my achievements and positive successes as well as 

empowering other women around me. No matter how easy or difficult your journey has been, no matter 

how many times you've wanted to give up and thought the world would be a better place, no matter how 

many times you have been told you can't do something because you're a women, all has led to this 

moment. Your journey. Your story. This is a battle that we are constantly going to fight. However, I 

wouldn't have it any other way. 

As women we should work together, build each other up and empower one another. Don't hate on 

each other and swim in happiness at another women's discomfort or failures. Bringing down another 

women is something girls practice. Real women want to see each other win.
