Reflecting on 2020 and goals for 2021

To say that 2020 didn't go to plan is a understatement. Every year I set a list of goals and I haven't
achieved any of them. Yes covid has ruined a lot of them, but also a lot of personal changes have
happened. I love to reflect on the past year and talk about my goals for the new year to see how far
I've come as well as what I want to achieve for the future. This year has made me appreciate the smaller
things in life and take things as they come. It's great to have long term goals but small term goals are
just as important, and help you reach your biggest goals.

REFLECTING ON 2020
I started 2020 engaged with a dog. I had expectations of moving out and planning a wedding this year,
whilst focusing on my blogging and working towards a future together. Instead I put myself first, ended
my relationship and started focusing on myself. I pushed myself out of my comfort zone to go out and
meet new people that I wouldn't have dreamed of doing before. I definitely struggled at parts with my
mental health, just like everyone else, but I've become the person I always wanted to be and am so happy
with how far I've come in such a small amount of time. My life has truly done a 360° this year.

March coronavirus came into play more intense than we could imagine. March 23rd we went into
lockdown, and March 24th I celebrated my 21st birthday at home. I didn't plan on having a big birthday
anyway but not being able to do anything for a memorable birthday was upsetting. With lockdown my
life hadn't changed much, apart from not being able to for a drink or meal on a weekend. I was still going
to work, and the only person I wasn't allowed to see was my nan. The whole of lockdown has blurred into
one and I can't even remember when we came out of it. When it was lifted I started going out with my
best friend again and met new people, which was a goal for this year. And I had a lot of fun!

Dating this year and coming to terms with being single was a huge part of 2020 for me. I've explored
being single and both loved and hated it at times. I was hurt more times than I could imagine and truly felt
for anyone who is trying to date in today's society. September came around and I gave up. I wasn't
bothered about trying to find someone or in dating anymore and was going to focus on me. Within a
week that had changed. I was asked out on a date that to this day feels like it hasn't ended and was swept
of my feet. I never expected to feel like this, especially so soon and be my true self with someone. People
say that when you stop looking it will happen and that when you know you know. I can truly say that these
are both so true! Last week we got the keys and moved into our very own place together.

I'm ending 2020 with an amazing boyfriend who treats me better than I could imagine, with our own home
together. Celebrating with his friends who accept me and treat me like one of their own, and get on with
better than I ever expected too. I'm surrounded by a beautiful and healthy family that love and support
both me and my boyfriend. I am happy with all of my jobs, and hope to push myself more next year in
regards to my career and truly put my qualifications to test.

Looking back at 2020 as a whole it's been pretty shit, we can all admit that. I've lost friends that I
thought I'd have with me for a lifetime, I've had family members pass away and lost a life that I once had.
However so much has happened for the positive. My boyfriend, family, new friends and a home together
is more than I dreamed for this year and am blown away with the accomplishments I've achieved.

GOALS FOR 2021
I've been known to put a lot of pressure on myself with goals, but especially in my relationship. I wanted
things to happen at an exact time and follow the 'perfect timeline'. That's very unrealistic. For this 2021 I
want to go out more and experience things as a couple. I would love to get engaged or fall pregnant next
year, but I'm more than happy to appreciate my relationship as it is. There's the obvious goals of loosing
weight and reading more, which I have as goals every year but they are at my main priority for 2021. I hope to grow the love for my body like I have this year and be more comfortable within myself. I've started to appreciate my body more this year and want nothing more than for that to grow and continue!

I love where I am at with my blog and Instagram. I've established great relationships with brands that I
love and even got to work with Pixi this year which was on my ultimate goal list. I would love to work
with more brands on my dream list and work on more paid content, eventually making my hobby a job.
Every year I set a goal as to the amount of followers I've love to hit and this year was 6k. After going
through my followers and removing spam, bot and inactivate accounts that wasn't possible. For 2021 I
would love to hit 5k and strive towards a better bond with my followers.

Unfortunately we're in a time where we don't know what next year holds for us, in a way that we never
expected. I'd love to travel more next year and experience new places and challenges that I have, but with
current restrictions these are uncertain. I hope that next year is more open and free for everyone, giving us
the chance for this to slowly 'go back to normal'. This year has made me learn to appreciate the smaller
things in life and take it more day by day. Every time something positive happens in my life I'm going to
write it in a list so at the end of the year I can look back at all of my achievements and what has been
accomplished, no matter how big or small they may be.

This is the last blog post from me until January 11th. I'm having time off over the holiday season
to spend with loved ones and unwind and relax after such a hectic year! I can't wait to see what 2021
has in store for us and I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

xoxo
