What I want to read next - My TBR

At this point I do't know if we're in lockdown or not. We are being told one thing for it to be changed a
few weeks later. Which is confusing for everyone as well as me. However I stay at home as much as
possible. So when I'm at home, I've found myself struggling to find things to do. I fell into a reading
slump. which unfortunately lasted for around 3/4 months. Due to taking part in 2 read-a-thons I've fell in
love with reading again. This is great because I love diving into books that transport you to another place,
however my TBR (to be read) pile is growing increasingly lager and lager as time goes on.

Technically all of the unread books on my shelves are on my TBR list, but this is a specific list for what I
want to read straight away. I'm a mood reader so most likely this will change, slightly or completely, but
this is a rough plan for now. TBR's make me wish that I could read faster so I could finish all of these in a
week, whilst still getting other things done! Becoming Dinah and Can Everyone Please Calm Down are
week 8 and 9's books for the #ReadWithPride read-a-thon hosted by Lucy Powrie. The other books on my
TBR are inspired by that as I am trying to read more diverse books, whether that be LGBTQ+, own voices
or by black authors. We could all do with widening our expectations with what we read.

"My name is Tori Spring. I like to sleep and I like to blog. Last year - before all the stuff with Charlie and
before I had to face the harsh of realities of A-Levels and university applications and the fact that one day
I really will have to start talking to people - I had friends. Things were very different, I guess but that's all
over now. Now there's Solitaire. And Michael Holden. I don't know what Solitaire are trying to do, and I
don't really care about Michael Holden. I really don't."

"Georgia has never been in love, never kissed anyone, never had a crush - but as a fanfic obsessed
romantic she's sure she'll find her person one day. As she starts university with her best friends, Pip and
Jason, in a whole new town far from home, Georgia's ready to find romance, and one with her outgoing
roommate on her side and place in the Shakespeare Society, her 'teenage dream' is in sight. But when her
romance plan wreaks havoc amongst her friends, Georgia ends up in her own comedy of errors, and she
starts to question why love seems so easy for other people but not for her. With new terms thrown at her -
asexual, aromatic - Georgia is more uncertain about her feelings than ever. Is she destined to remain
loveless? Or has she been looking for the wrong thing all along"

"IS ANYONES LIFE ... Beth shows that women really can have it all. Ruby lives life by her own rules. And
then there's Lauren living the dream. AS PERFECT AS IT LOOKS? Beth hasn't had sex in a year. Ruby
feels like she's failing. Lauren's happiness is fake news. And it just takes one shocking event to make the
truth come tumbling out..."

"What if you aren't the Chosen One? The one who's supposed to fight the zombies, or the soul-eating
ghosts, or whatever the heck the new thing is, with the blue lights and death? What if you're like Mikey?
Who just wants to graduate and go to prom and maybe finally work up the courage to ask Henna out
before something goes and blows up the high school. Again. Because sometimes there are problems bigger
than this week's end of the world, and sometimes you just have to find the extraordinary in your ordinary
life. even if you best friend is worshipped by mountain lions..."

"Queenie is a 25 year old black woman living in South London, straddling Jamaican and British culture
whilst slotting in neatly into neither. She works at a national newspaper where she's constantly forced to
compare her with, middle class peers, and beg to write about Black Lives Matter. After a messy break up
from her long term white boyfriend, Queenie finds herself seeking comfort in all the wrong places. As
Queenie veers from one regrettable decision to another, she finds herself wondering, WHAT ARE YOU
DOING? WHY ARE YOU DOING IT? WHO DO YOU WANT TO BE? - the questions that every woman
today must face in a world that keeps trying to provide the answers for them."

"Dinah's whole world is upside down, dead things and angry men and cuts all over her head that are
beginning to sting... Seventeen year old Dinah needs to leave her home, the weird commune where she
grew up. She needs a whole new identity, starting with how she looks, starting with shaving off here hair,
her 'crowing glory'. She has to do it quickly, because she has to go NOW. Dinah was going to go alone
and hitch a ride south. Except, she ends up being persuaded to illegally drive a VW vamper van for
hundreds of miles, accompanied by a grumpy man with one leg. This wasn't the plan. But whilst she's
driving, Dinah will be forced to confront everything that led her here, everything that will finally show her
which direction to turn..."

"Comedian Mae Martin investigates in this hilarious and intelligent guide to 21st century sexuality.
Covering everything from the pros and cons of labels, to coming out and the joys of sexual fluidity, Mae
ponders all the stuff we get hung up about - and then a bit more. Mae's mission is to ensure that in a world
that's full of things to worry about, who we choose to kiss should not be one of them. And when it comes to
sexuality she asks: Can everyone please calm down?"
