Mental health Sundays

At the start of February I spent the entire Sunday in bed catching up on blog posts, emails, staying in
my pjs and pampering myself. By the end of the night I realised how good I felt and I loved it more
because it happened naturally and I didn't put any pressure on myself to make it a day for me. Nearly
6 weeks later, I'm still having that same Sunday every week. I have now called in my mental health
Sunday. It's a day where I can do as much or as little as I want and get prepared for the week ahead.

I've always loved the idea of having a day like this, especially a Sunday, but i used to plan it so much
that I found the idea stressful, so I never got round to doing so. I used to find myself stressing so
much during the week that I didn't have enough time to get everything done, even though I did, so
having a day dedicated to catching up and managing everything has been a huge help and relief.

I look at my planner from the week and see what I haven't done and need to catch up on. I write my
blog posts for the following week and I might take some photos if I need too. I spend the day in my
pj's with a blanket wrapped around me, whilst sitting in my bed on my laptop. I bring everything to
my bed and don't even attempt to sit at, my desk for a more 'professional' day. I snack on shit
throughout the day, often order a McDonald's because it's my guilty pleasure. Sometimes I might be
recovering from drinking the night before and have a slight headache, so spending the day in bed is
often a good thing. I will get my planner ready for the new week and see what I've got to do.

Something I love to do and is my favourite part of the Sunday is when it gets to about 6pm and I can
start pampering myself. I will wash my hair and do a hair mask, followed by a face mask, sometimes
I will also do an eye and lip mask too. Some might not thinking that shaving is part of a pamper
session, but it makes me feel so good afterwards that I considered I make sure to do it! I will lather
my body in lotion, do my skincare routine thoroughly and I might even paint my nails!

Do you have a day dedicated to this?

xoxo

  1. Oh this sounds like a perfect day and I'm so glad you've found this routine! I've always wanted to find a time to be able to do something similar to this...maybe I'll try it sometime this week!

  6. I'm having to watch how many face masks I'm doing during this pandemic! Pamper sessions are becoming quite frequent as of late.

  7. I love this! I wish I had a specific day dedicated to myself, I just never get the time - I always have something to do or something comes up. However, whilst in lockdown maybe I could just do it everyday haha x
