How I stay relaxed - my relaxation routine

In today's world, we always find ourselves working, battling against the odds or never find time for ourselves. For me, relaxation and self love are 2 of the most important things that you need in your life. Whether that be going to the cinema on your own, painting your nails, having a pamper night
or reading a good book. Due to my anxiety and depression I often get overwhelmed, anxious and stressed, even if I'm there isn't a reason to cause this. This has resulted in me creating a relaxation routine that allows me to take my time and care for myself that little bit more than usual.

NAILS
Since I get my nails done I often take pride in painting my toe nails and find it quite the experience.
I love painting my nails bold colours to stand out and am loving using the Nails Inc h20 wash off polish in the shade Mayfair Court as a transitional shade from Summer to Autumn. Since this is a wash off polish (8 washes - great for kids) it allows me to get creative and paint my nails more often.

PAMPER
When I think of relaxing I often think of pampering too. So I tend to break out the face masks and give my skin a good treat. I've recently rekindled my love for the Loreal pure clay face masks as you can mix them to suit your skin type and specific areas. I love to use the bright mask on my t-zone, purity on my forehead and blemish mask on the rest of my face to combat my current break outs.

ACTIVITY
I've used the word activity as this covers a wide variety of tasks, which different people find relaxing.
For me it's reading a book or watching a movie, but a lot of people also find relaxation and comfort
in exercise such as swimming and running. If exercise is your source of relaxation I would suggest
doing it in a light form in order to stay calm and stress free - activities that keep your heart rate at
a moderate level such as swimming or yoga rather than running or boxing.

SCENT
Scent plays a big part in how relaxed I feel. This can range from lighting a candle to putting a Lush bath bomb in my bubble bath. At the moment I'm loving using the Feather and Down sleeping mist to help me de-stress, relax and fall to sleep easier and smoother. This has a light lavender scent infused with chamomile and essential oils which is proven to increase the brain waves that are associated with relaxation.

SLEEP
The main factor that I associate with staying calm and relaxed is sleep. People often think the more sleep you get the better you feel but that isn't the case. Quite often having too much sleep is just as bad for you as too little sleep. The recommended amount of sleep for 18-64 years olds is between 7 and 9 hours. Remember in order to stay relaxed, de-stressed and calm, sleep is the most important.
