Being The Best Version of Yourself

Every year you see so many people writing "new year, new me" but do they ever change? No. I reckon the reason for this is because they try to completely change themselves into a new person, rather than making themselves even better. This year I'm trying to focus a lot more on myself and being the best version of myself that I can be. Stop trying to be a new person and start being the best version of yourself.

NO NEGATIVE SELF TALK
Instead of doubting yourself and saying that you can't do something, do it and most of the
time it will be even better and easier than you thought. It's about pushing yourself.

STOP JUDGING OTHERS
Everyone judges other people, it's one of the first things you do when you see or talk to someone.
Instead of judging them on that, get to know them and who they are. Remember nobody is perfect.

THINK ABOUT THE GOOD AFTER FEELING
There's always something in the day that we have to do that we don't want to, but after it's done and has
been completed there is this overall feeling of joy and self satisfaction. Nothing is better than the feeling of being proud of yourself for doing something generous or even something that you really didn't want to do.

DON'T BE SCARED OF FAILING
When I was in high school we had a bunch of inspirational quotes everywhere, one that really made a difference and made me think was a quote from Theodore Roosevelt; "It is hard to fail, but it is worse to have never tried to succeed." It is embarrassing to fail and hard to admit, but everyone does. Would you rather try and fail or have never tried to succeed originally.

"Failing is a bruise, not a tattoo."

JUST DO IT
Don't sit and think about everything, just get up and say yes. Someone asks you for a favor say yes, it will make you feel better at the end. You want to do an extra essay at college but are worried you'll get called a nerd, just do it. Stop worrying about what others are going to say and just be yourself.
