Last year I did a blog post talking about my goals for the remainder of 2021, and after a very
interesting first half of the year I definitely wanted to do this again. I love setting goals all year round and
don't think that they should just be at the beginning of the new year or to start a new week or month off.
Goals just constantly be set and changed as your evolve and grow as a person. Reflecting on last years
goals I didn't accomplish everything I wanted but that's something that happens with goals. You can set
them and circumstances change. You may no longer want that and want to work towards something else.
Short term and long term goals will constantly change and thats ok!
GET BACK INTO BLOGGING
This year I have majorly slacked with blogging and creating content. There are many reasons that
contributed to this including; work, relationship and lack of motivation. I can feel the motivation coming
back in small waves, and I want to focus on getting into a routine, posting twice a week and falling back in
love with it blogging again. However I don't want to put myself under pressure as I've been doing this for
8 years and it's always been a hobby of mine and I want to continue with that.
TREAT MYSELF WITH KINDNESS
I've always been someone who is negative and extremely hard on themselves. I have never felt good
enough in any aspect of my life and self sabotage a lot because of this. Over the last 2 years I have started
to realise my self worth and how I deserve to be treated by others. However I do believe you have to start
with yourself before letting someone else in. Whether that be loving yourself or any goal you have.
READ AT LEAST 5 BOOKS
I love reading, and I have for a few years. The past 2 years my reading has been shocking. My goal for
this year was 26 books, however we are in August and I'm yet to read 1. Once I start reading I know I will
get addicted all over again and could easily accomplish my goal of 26 books. Saying that I don't want to
put pressure on myself to read so many books in a short amount of time, which is why I want to aim for 5.
ESTABLISH A ROUTINE
As someone with autism I really benefit from a routine. With big tasks I like to stick to set times, such as
work and the time I get up and need to do in the morning. For smaller tasks just as cleaning I stick to
certain days. What I want to work on is establishing a routine with blogging, reading, family time and my
personal life in the midst of that. Getting the basics down helps me work changing tasks around them.
LESS TIME WORRYING ABOUT OTHERS
I am a very caring person and will always go out of my way to do anything and everything I can to make
sure someone is happy, they have what they want and feel loved. However I spend a lot of time worrying
about what others think of me and how I am perceived in their head. As I've got older this has gone up and
down, but due to some recent events I definitely spend more time than I want to admit, worrying about
what others think about me. I want to be me and the best version of me and not worry if others like that.
Don't wait for a new week, month or year. Start now!

Constantly reminding myself that I don't like everyone and not everyone is going to like me, and that is ok x

I'm glad you've realised your self-worth, it takes time to prioritise yourself and not care what others think, but once you get there it's the best thing ever!

Fingers crossed it carries on upwards and moving forward x
DeleteThis is such a lovely post. It's definitely beneficial checking back in with yourself around this time of year. I'm the same with reading! I took a book out of the library to prompt myself to read, but I think I managed about 20 pages before I had to return it. Eeek! Looking forward to reading more of your posts!

Thank you! My library isn't the best unfortunately but I'd have to return them without reading x
DeleteReading more is in my list too. Good luck with your goals!
