Having hydrated and nourished skin is something I love achieving, no matter what time of year but
especially when it starts getting colder. The cold area hits your skin and dries it out leaving you feeling
rough and sometimes in pain. I have dry skin so my skin will soak up all the hydration it can possibly
get, which is why I make sure that every skincare product I am using, benefits my skin in all aspects.
As it is getting colder and colder as the days go on, I wanted to share my 4 top tips to hydrate your
skin and keep it as nourished as possible!
USE AN OIL
My favourite way and biggest tip to hydrating my skin is to use an oil. I love oils so much. Oils are used
before your moisturiser as they trap the moisture in whilst keeping the toxins and bacteria out of your skin.
Each oil can be used to target a specific problem area. I personally love to use an oil that contains
hyaluronic acid as that helps with scaring, fines lines and wrinkles and ensures a soft smooth canvas.
CHOOSE A FACE MASK WISELY
Face masks are a great way to treat your skin and target specific problem areas. Whether you have oily or
dry skin you can still use a hydrating face mask. Some face masks are specific for dry skin which will
include as much moisturise as possible to add to your skin what it's lacking, however hydrating masks for
oily skin are more concentrated to avoid adding to the excess oil. Make sure to browse the face masks to
find one that works for your skin type as well as adding to your skin what you want.
MOISTURISE TWICE A DAY
The main key to hydrated skin is to moisturise. However once a day isn't enough. You should be
moisturising your skin both morning and night, to make sure that your skin is getting as much
nourishment as possible. I like to mix a little of the Dermalogica barrier defence booster* in when I
moisturise at night for some adding hydration whilst restoring the balance in my skin.
DON'T FORGET ABOUT YOUR EYES AND LIPS
When it comes to making sure your skin is hydrated, people always forget about their eyes and lips. Even
though other products can get on those areas, unless you are treating them specifically they won't get the
hydration they need. I personally love to use the W7 sweet dreams overnight lip mask and it's so thick and
nourishing that your lips are left feeling super soft instantly. In regards to an eye cream I find one that also
targets fines lines and wrinkles and brightens the area whilst adding moisture where necessary.

Overnight lip masks make such a big difference x
DeleteI love any kind of skincare that I can put on last thing at night and let work when I'm sleeping - it's the time I touch my face the least and when waking up feeling fresh is just the best!
ReplyDeleteIf I apply a light layer of lip balm, my skin instantly feels more hydrated - I swear it's all in my mind hah!
