This is a product only AD with Treat Trunk
I will be the first to admit that my eating habits are terrible. I don't eat a lot, but what I do is unhealthy and
absolute crap. I'd much rather spend £1 on a burger from McDonalds than £3 on a healthy snack, which is
definitely my biggest downfall as well as a lot of other peoples. When it comes to healthy snack
subscription boxes I'm usually really overwhelmed but when I came across the Treat Trunk I wanted to
give them a lot as there is so much variety in each box, rather than being the same each time.
Treat Trunk is a monthly subscription box service that delivers healthy treats right to your door. Their
mission is to improve the health and wellbeing of people all over the UK by making, eating healthy
easier and more exciting than ever before. You can purchase a monthly treat trunk (22-25 snacks) for
£35.99 a month or their mini monthly treat trunk (12-15 snacks for £19.99 a month. If you are interested
in trying this before you subscribe then you can purchase a one off box of each for £24.99 or £39.99
depending on which size box you would prefer.
Sally, the founder, is super friendly and will cater to any dietary requirements that you may have. Unlike
any other box I've tried, she welcomes criticism and feedback so she is constantly evolving and growing
her brand to benefit her customers more.
WHAT'S IN MY BOX?
With 70% cocoa these have a very intense chocolate taste, they do smell incredible and I love the taste of
the golden crunchy malt in the centre. These are vegan, contain no palm oil, have all natural ingredients
and have 30% less sugar.
The Protein Ball Co. - lemon and pistachio (45g £1.99)
These happen to be my moms favourites as she loves the combination of lemon and pistachio. Neither of
which is overpowering the other. The perfect blend of flavours for her, however I'm nota fan of pistachios
so these weren't my favourite, but definitely better than I thought. These are vegan, high in fibre and
gluten free, with no added sugar and 7g of protein.
I was most shocked at the size of these and the consistency of the centre. These are really soft and smell
very much of cocoa. The centre of this has the same texture of cake, which makes you want more. These
are vegan and gluten free with 50% less sugar, 10 vitamins and mineral and 8g of plant protein.
Prodigy orange chocolate with baobab reborn (35g £1.65)
As I've never tried vegan chocolate, I was shocked at how much this tastes like regular chocolate. The
orange is slightly overpowering and hits you more afterwards. This is vegan and has no refined sugars.
Love Vegan salted caramel and peanut (45g £1.25)
I was so shocked at how incredible this smells, as well as the texture. I was expecting something almost
like a crumbly oat cake biscuit, but this is more of a solid bar. This is vegan, dairy free, wheat free, gluten
free, has 10.1g of protein and has no added sugars.
Raw Press millionaires shortbread (65g £3)
This is what I was most excited for but turned out to be my least favourite. The texture is perfect but
the chocolate slice and date centre is so overwhelming, and I found that the flavours didn't blend well
together. This is vegan, nut free, gluten free, raw and has refined sugar.
Cheeky P's roasted chickpeas - black pepper (50g £1.30)
I've never tried a chickpea before so I had no idea what to expect. I enjoyed the taste and found them to
have the perfect amount of seasoning, however I wasn't a fan of the texture. As they are roasted they are
hard and very crumbly when you bite into them. These are vegan, high in protein and fibre and gluten free.
When I opened the box these were what I saw first and wasn't excited in the slightest. However these are
actually in my top 3. They smell like fresh herbs and have a unique taste. These are pretty bland but they
offer a variety of different flavours available which I'm keen to try out soon. These are vegan, high in
fibre, a source of protein, gluten free and dairy free.
Nàkd crazy cola infused raisins (25g £0.49)
Two flavours that I would've never paired together are cola and raisins. I wouldn't say these are
particularly special as the taste didn't wow me, but I did enjoy how they tasted very sweet so you forgot
you were eating a healthy snack. These are vegan, wheat, dairy and gluten free, with no added sugar.
Forest Feast super fruit shapes - tropic mix (30g £0.90)
When I opened these I was shocked that they have a chewy texture, especially as these contain bananas. I
was expecting them to look like dried fruit chips, but I actually prefer these. My favourite out of the three
fruits (banana, mango and pineapple) is the banana. These are vegan with no added sugar.
Wallaroo gently dried pineapple chunks (30g £1.35)
Out of all the snacks, unfortunately these smell the worst. I'm not sure if all dried pineapple smells the
same, but they have a really intense smell. Thankfully this doesn't impact the taste, and I happen to love
dried fruit. These are vegan and gluten free with no added ingredients.
Frutina real fruit snack - apple and apricot (15g £0.79)
Other than the millionaires shortbread I was most excited for this, because it seemed the least in your
face. I wouldn't usually think to put apple and apricot together, especially since I'm not a fan of apricots,
however this was. my favourite snack so much so that I've added a pack of them to my Wishlist on
Amazon. These are vegan, with no added ingredients, sugar or preservatives.
Overall I was pleasantly shocked by this box. I'm not one for healthy snacks usually but this has made me
want to go and try some out. My 2 favourites were the Frutina real fruit snack and the Hippeas organic
chickpea puffs as the flavours weren't overwhelming and what it said on the packaging is exactly what it
was. My least favourites were the Raw Press millionaires shortbread and the Doisy and Dam ballers, as I
found both of them to be overpowering with flavour especially with the percentage of cocoa used.
