Garnier banana hair food first impressions

Why do I have to buy any beauty product that has food in the title or is food themed? I think that says a lot
about me. I recently discovered that Garnier had an entire hair food range, rather than just a mask which I
originally thought. I have very long hair so it's definitely something I have to take care of a lot, especially
when it comes to what products I am using in it. Since these are relatively new, I wanted to test them out,
also because I, shamelessly, got drawn in by the packaging like I usually do.

They have 4 'foods' to choose from; banana, papaya, coconut and aloe vera, which all target different types
of hair. Banana is to nourish dry hair. Papaya is to repair damaged hair. Coconut is to smooth frizzy and
unruly hair. Aloe vera is to moisturise normal hair. These are all available in a shampoo, conditioner and
hair mask for less than £7 each, however they are regularly on deals for less than £4 each in Boots.

Since I have more dry hair I decided to pick up the  nourishing banana shampoonourishing banana
conditioner and nourishing banana hair mask. I have been testing them out over the last few weeks
and since I haven't heard many people talking about them, I wanted to share my opinions.

SCENT
I'm not a huge fan of the artificial banana scent, but I can deal with it if the product is worth it. I was
shocked that these don't actually smell like banana at all, not even the hair mask. They are very sweet
scented but have no hint of banana. I am definitely curious as to if they all smell the same or are scented,
depending on what their 'food' and properties are. I'm not disappointed but was shocked, so make sure you
don't buy this just because you like the artificial banana smell, because then you will be disappointed.

QUALITY
I like to judge a shampoo by how much product you need to use and how it lathers up. I found myself
using the same amount as I normally do (less than a palm size amount), which I liked because it means I'm
not going to go through this within only a few washes. This also lathers up perfectly which is key for me
as I have very long hair, so don't want to be damaging and breaking my hair by constantly scrubbing at it,
for it to lather. I used the same amount of conditioner as normal and loved how it applied to my hair and
left it feeling. The hair mask has an amazing silky texture to it and glides on your hair evenly. I like to
apply my hair mask from the middle to ends of my hair and use the excess on my hands across my roots
and scalp, to avoid getting a build up of product and it feeling heavy. The hair mask is a 3-in-1 treatment
that can used as a regular conditioner, a hair mask or a leave in treatment.

All of their products are vegan and made from 98% natural ingredients. Please check
the list of ingredients before purchasing, in case of allergies and risk to a reaction.

IS IT WORTH IT?
The main question is; are they worth it? I'm pretty split with this. Yes I love all 3 products, but when
it comes to the shampoo and conditioner they didn't stand out as much as I hoped they would. They
worked and did their purpose, however I was expecting more visible results from them. The hair mask
is definitely worth it. I love how it leaves my hair feeling, as well as being a 3-in-1 treatment unlike
any product I've tried before. I am interested in trying out the other hair food masks and seeing if I still
enjoy the banana one just as much. I would recommend trying the hair mask, but don't go out of your
way just to try the shampoo and conditioner.
