2016 Winter Essentials

On this blog we tend to have quite a few posts that have become a tradition to do every season or every year and I wasn't about to break that tradition. As today marks the first official day of Winter it was only right for me to share my essentials for this season with all of you guys.

Tanya Burr birthday suit eye palette
In Winter a lot of people tend to have Christmas parties, shopping to do, gatherings and of course New Years Eve. With this comes a lot of gorgeous makeup looks. When it comes to eye shadow I always stay away from bright colours and stick to neutrals that can work with both day and night time looks. This palette is a great way to achieve this as it has warm toned shadows that can be paired with any type of makeup.

Becca champagne pop highlighter
It's no longer Summer so we can't sit outside and sunbath to get that natural glowy skin, unfortunately we have to fake it. If any of you are like me, then you will have to fake having glowy skin all year round. When I think of makeup around Winter I tend to think of warm tones, so for a highlight I love to use the Becca pressed champagne pop highlighter by Jacyln Hill. This is also great for the upcoming party seasons.

Lush bubblegum lip scrub
Nothing is worse than having tight, dry, chapped lips. Not only is it very painful but it also doesn't help when it comes to doing  your makeup and you're about to put lipstick on. To help combat chapped flakey lips, a lip scrub is much needed. My favourites are from Lush as they are all natural ingredients and smell amazing.

Nuxe ultra-nourishing lip balm
After using a lip scrub to get rid of any dry skin on your lips, you want to make sure that your lips stay nourished and hydrated. I never thought I would find a thick lip balm that actually works until I was kindly given the Nuxe ultra-nourishing lip balm. This is great for the cold weather as it is super thick and moisturising, but you can't feel it on your lips and doesn't feel sticky. Not only that but it smells like honey.

Vaseline spray and go body moisturiser
I have mentioned this in favourites post before but this is especially essential for the Winter season. Nothing is worse than dry skin, so to avoid this it is best to keep topped up with your favourite moisturiser. I love to use the Vaseline spray and go body moisturiser in the cocoa butter scent to keep me nourished at all times.

Christmas films
Winter comes 4 days before Christmas, but if you are anything like me then you love to watch Christmas films for as long as you can, even if this means watching them until the first day of Spring in March! My favourite Christmas films are; Elf, Love Actually, Miracle on 34th Street, The Holiday, The Grinch, Christmas with the Kranks, A Christmas Detour and Four Christmases. Sadly these are only a few!!

Thick cosy blanket
Nothing is better than snuggling up on the sofa or in bed and wrapping yourself up with a big thick cosy blanket, whilst watching your favourite Christmas films and sipping on a hot beverage. Sounds very Pinterest inspired! Although Winter is 4 days before Christmas this is still perfect to do right up until Spring, as it is super cold especially if you live in England like me. This pink blanket in particular was from The Range.
