Spring makeup

Over the years my love for Spring has blossomed more and more. For so long Autumn has been my
favourite season as I love layering and being able to wear oversized jumpers and the nights getting darker.
However over the last year specifically, I have grown to appreciate Spring more and I think this is mainly
down to being in a lockdown for so long and wanting to enjoy the weather getting warmer and the colours
outside changing. My love for makeup over the last year has also changed, going through some up and
down phases where I both loved and hated it. But with Spring here I'm so excited to have the chance to
play with more pinks and peaches as well as shimmers and satins.

Bronzers are a key all year round but because I don't tan, I need them even more in the warmer months. I
love using a matte bronzer and since I've got quite fair skin, the Essence matt bronzing powder works best
for me; giving me that bronzed glow without being muddy. Although matte bronzers are and always will
be my favourite, I have recently started applying a light layer of a shimmered bronzer to my cheeks. The
Tarte Amazonian clay bronzer* is a natural matte, which I find is slightly reflective. Adding this on top of
my original bronzers give a more sun kissed glow and the appearance I've been sat in the sun.

When it comes to blush, I always stick to the same one or two despite having nearly 50! This spring I'm
trying to branch out and use what I have. Currently my favourites are the Loreal lifes a peach blush, and
the XX Revolution xxcess blush in jitter. Both are gorgeous peachy/coral shades that compliment any and
all skin tones. I recently received the Tarte breezy cream blush in pink sky* which I am so excited to try
out, not only because the shade is stunning and the perfect pink for Spring but also because I haven't used
a cream blush in years and am looking forward to having a play around with using it.

No matter what time of year it is I always wear highlighter and make sure that my cheeks are beaming as
much as possible, so obviously Spring is no different. I often like to mix highlighters together; a more
iridescent one as a base to get the glow and then a more pigmented highlight to make sure I get that
intense look. For a radiant glow I am loving the new Tarte shape tape glow powder in sunlit* which is a
sheer opalescent glow, then for that added intensity the Jaclyn Hill beaming light loose highlighter in extra
is insane! I have never tried a better highlighter than this from Jaclyn Cosmetics

Finally for Spring I love adding a little something to my eyes. At the moment I'm not feeling much
eyeshadow or lipstick, but adding a touch of shimmer to the lid and depth in the crease is perfect! The
Tarte juicy Amazonian clay eyeshadow palette* has all the shades to make that happen. I love applying a
neutral brown (shade fresh start) to the crease to add some extra definition, a peachy pink (paradise) on the
lid to tie in the blush and a bright shimmer (reflect) in the inner corner and brow bone to make it pop!

What makeup items are you looking forward to using this Spring?
