Red Velvet Oreo Cupcakes

I have been wanting to make red velvet oreo cupcakes for a long time and I have
only just managed to get around to making them and I thought it would be a great post
to write and share with you all.

The first thing I did was place 12 cupcake cases into a baking tray and
put the oreo in the bottom of the cases.

The mixture I used was a pre-made mixture from asda that you just add
water and eggs too as it was more convenient for me, but you can make the mixture from scratch.

I then pre-heated my oven to 160-170C like it says on the packet, but do
what you recipe requires.

I added my 2 eggs and 150ml of water to my mixture and used an electric
whisk to make sure it was all mixed together.

I then added three spoonfuls of the mixture to each cupcake case
and made sure they were all the same even size.

After that I place them in the oven for about 15-25 minutes to make
sure they were cooked thoroughly.

Whilst they were cooking I put the two left over oreo's in a
small plastic bag and crushed them with a rolling pin.

I did this so I could add them to the butter cream that I made using butter
and icing sugar so I could use it is as the icing on the top of each cupcake.

To make sure they were cooked I sticked a toothpick into the centre of
a couple of cupcakes and if it came out clean then it means that they were cooked
but if it, has some cake residue on them they need to be cooked for a bit longer.

I then left them to cool down for about 30-45 minutes before icing them.

I then put a spoonful of icing on each cupcake and used a spoon to even out the
mixture and afterwards I used some chocolate sprinkles and regular
sprinkles on the top to make the look more 'fancy!'

This is the finished result, they taste so nice with a unique flavour due
to the oreo at the bottom, along with the oreo
buttercream icing on the top.

I hope you enjoyed this as it was different to what I usually do
and if you would like more posts like this comment down below and I
can definitely do so.
